So....I have not done anything on this blog thing forever! Well, I cannot believe that it is 2010! Crazy! Not much has changed. Preston is still going to school, and will take the MCAT Jan 30. Hopefully he does well so that he does not have to take it again....that test is expensive! He starts applying to med schools this spring, and we should know where we are moving by next winter. That should be a fun move with 4 kids! Last time I moved I only had 1 and a half! My kids are loving school, and three out of four go a half day. Holly goes to Kindergarten in the morning, Sky goes to Preschool in the morning also, then when they get back, Austin goes to Preschool in the afternoon. I feel like I am one of those busy-run kids around-moms already and my oldest is only 6! I haven't done anything all that interesting all winter long...just being mom and wife. I have tried to keep busy doing some project, quilting, or woodworking. I got a router for Christmas this year, and bought a sander this fall, so I am all "Craft Ready". I want to start to refinish old furniture that I have found at the DI and Garage Sales, so we'll see if I can find some fun stuff! I found an Awsome kitchen table...all wood with the old fashioned claw feet and engraved roses...but my husband didn't want me to get it because we already have a "Newer" kitchen table that is bigger and he didn't want to store it for years....so, I let him have his way this time....(lets not kid ourselves....if I really really wanted it I would've just bought it....I like to let him think that he is in charge sometimes) so, I need to find another project. I am also helping Jodi remodel her basement...so if anyone has any cool ideas for a deep, dark, dungeon basement, post them for me! We have taken advantage of the snow and gone sledding quite a few times. I can't wait for it to warm up so that we can actually do outdoor activities without freezing! Well, I can't think of much else to say. Time sure does fly, and it seems like the older I get the faster it goes....yes....I turned 27 the end of December.....it was kind of a depressing birthday! Hope everyone has a good January, and sticks with their New Year's Resolutions.....(SURE...:))

Man it is hard to get around to posting things online. It seems like the weeks are just flying by because we've been so busy! Not much new happening...just trying to finish up the semester. My kids are tired of being in the house and keep talking about planting a garden. There is only one problem with that...well, two really. One , the weather never seems to get better, and two, everything that I've ever planted shrivels and dies.
So, a few months ago I wrote a Children's book just for fun. It was just going to be for my kids, but I submitted it to a publisher...just to see what happened...and they took it. So, my first book "Skyler the Pirate" is going to be coming "Out" sometime this month. I even illustrated it myself....which is what really makes it LAUGHABLE. But, it is what it is, and I don't claim to be an artist. Here is a picture of the cover that my publisher came up with. I tried to tell them that this cover did not really go with the book, because it is a little kid's book, and I didn't feel like it would capture the audience that this book should attract, but according to my contract they get the final say on the cover design, so oh well. My book is available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, or any other online bookstore. It can also be ordered through any regular bookstore. Don't run out and buy it though....unless you have a pretty penny to spend. They are asking like $25.00 a book...which is really TOO much for a children's book, but oh well, that's their decision too. All I care about is getting my copy for my kids...it's kind of fun though!

This week has been rough. I have had sick kids...which totally stresses me out...and on top of all of that it has the audacity to snow! My 2 year old stresses me out because whenever he gets a cold he gets REALLY sick! He always starts to wheeze, and I have to continually give him breathing treatments...which is hard when he is wiggling around doing anything possible to get out of my grasp. We actually have to give him treatments twice a day always...it sucks. They think that he may have asthma, but it only happens when he gets sick, so I don't know. I think I'll get a second opinion. I can't wait until spring finally gets here. First I have a load of baby fat to lose. Lori, if you are reading, you know what I'm talking about...it's worse than when we first joined WW. That was so fun! I wish you were around to go with me again...although...I'm sure you look like a toothpick compared to me. I know that whoever is reading this probably dosen't really care, but it is something that is always on my mind so I felt like writing it. Okay, it's fine if you all call me Julie until I lose it...I wont mind.:) Kids are definately worth all of the PAIN. I finally got a chance to take some pics of Kayla. Also, I got a few of Sky being his little stinker self. One where he is trying to swing ON his sister, and one where he is up on the counter trying to catch the fish. I found him up there about 50 times that day! I finally got smart and put the fish on higher ground.

Thank you Cherish, Denise, Lori, and Esther for the advice. Yes, I feel like a retard. Anyways, this blogging thing is cool. It is like I am a spy, and am able to zero in on everyone's lives. Just kidding! I'm really not THAT weird! My husband thinks so sometimes.
I am sick and tired of winter. I can't wait until spring! I am going to have a good spring and summer this year....do you know how I know? I am not pregnant, nor will I be pregnant again! Yes, Preston and I decided to call it good with 4. It's kind of weird knowing that I have my 'whole' family already...but I am excited about it. My kids are lots of fun, and Kayla is a great addition. She is such a sweet happy baby. She even tries talking to me already and she's not even 4 months old. She tries to make noises, and works herself up to something that sounds like a big 'sigh'.
Right now I am trying to juggle my kids, as well as go to school. I found a bachelor's program at Weber State University that is in Healthcare Administration, and I decided that it was perfect for me. I have 120 credits in this and that, and I decided that I just need to finish something up, so that when my kids are all in school I will be able to get a job (and have something to do). Although, Preston (who wants to get into a DO program now) should make plenty of money, and I could probably be a career shopper, I'm thinking that I will need to do something useful with my time. Anyway, the degree is completely online, and once I work for two years I can apply for their Master's program. SO, I read my textbooks while I am feeding my baby, and run back and forth from the computer to the random messes that my kids are making when they think that I am not looking. It's going pretty well though.
